Dr. Marjorie Calixte-Hallworth, PhD, is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, independent researcher, and strategic consultant whose work focuses on helping leaders, organizations, and communities navigate complexity and transform knowledge into meaningful action. Her work is grounded in both/and leadership and informed by the Polarities of Democracy framework, recognizing that many enduring challenges cannot be solved through either/or thinking. Instead, they require leaders to maximize the benefits and minimize the unintended consequences within interdependent values.
During her public service career, Dr. Marjorie managed workforce education, training, policy, program administration, and organizational initiatives involving state agencies, educational institutions, workforce partners, and community stakeholders. Her responsibilities included program oversight, process improvement, data quality, monitoring, staff training, provider coordination, implementation support, and cross-agency collaboration.
Through this work, she observed a recurring challenge across institutions: valuable knowledge does not automatically translate into effective action. Leaders must also navigate competing priorities, align policy with implementation, strengthen systems, clarify accountability, and manage enduring tensions such as Participation AND Representation, Justice AND Due Process, and Vision AND Execution. These experiences strengthened her commitment to helping people and organizations move from insight to practical, measurable action.
Building on more than 25 years of experience in public service, workforce systems, program administration, organizational leadership, research, and cross-sector collaboration, Dr. Marjorie now offers strategic consulting and advisory services for government agencies, educational institutions, nonprofits, associations, and mission-driven organizations. Her consulting services focus on strategy and organizational performance, workforce and program improvement, responsible AI readiness and strategy, and executive and board advisory support. Her approach is designed to help organizations identify what matters most, strengthen systems and programs, improve execution, and develop practical paths from strategy to implementation.
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Marjorie founded a wellness-focused apothecary that brings ancestral practices into conversation with modern approaches to well-being. This work reflects her belief that sustainable progress emerges when Tradition AND Innovation are treated as complementary strengths. She is also a co-founder of Calixte Antoine Kingdom and the Haitian Community of Tennessee, organizations committed to education, service, community empowerment, and shared responsibility. She also serves on the board of the Visitation Hospital Foundation, supporting efforts that expand access to essential healthcare services in Haiti.
Dr. Marjorie is the author of Barriers to Effective Public Secondary Education in Rural Areas in Haiti, a research-based examination of the political and policy barriers affecting educational access and implementation. Her newest book, Bridging the Gap: Turning Insight Into Impact, offers practical guidance for visionary leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, educators, and community builders navigating complexity in an AI-shaped world. Through her books and published articles, she explores public policy, education, democratic governance, leadership, artificial intelligence, and the relationship between individual purpose and collective progress.
She is a Fellow of the Polarities of Democracy Institute, where her scholarly and applied work advances polarity thinking in leadership, organizational culture, democratic governance, and community change. Her research brings together academic inquiry, professional experience, and practical application to help individuals and institutions move beyond division and respond more effectively to complex challenges.
